Hi my name is Lenny.

I was chosen to be a World Maths Day Ambassador because I am really good at maths. I love maths because of how challenging and how it relates to real life. I love it when I get to do all the extension math in my class. Other students like it in my class when I get to help out or even teach them. I love to play live Mathletics because I can challenge people and they can challenge me. For me and all my classmates, World Maths Day would be really fun and a great experience for them to remember.

At the start of Term 1 this year I start a program called VHAP learning (Victorian high ability program). It was a great experience, I learnt a lot about Roman numerals, Chinese numerals, cracking, decoding and making secret codes. It pushed me and I made a whole heap of new friends from other schools.

I can’t wait for World Maths Day so I can compete against everyone in the world and everyone in my school. I really hope I get a good high percentage on Mathletics.

Maths at my school is very interesting, we learn about all different operations, we do worded puzzles and I get to run some fun games for other students in the class.

When I grow up, I want to be a professional basketball player in the NBA. Basketball contains a lot of maths. Whether it is your average of what you score, how much you would win by. How much you have to shoot the ball and time on the game, the ladder percentage and many more. I also want to go to college and to get to college, you need to be smart. Most NBA players go to college before NBA.

I can’t wait for World Maths Day; I will be counting down the days!
