Helping children learn times tables with Mathletics

Statutory times table tests will be introduced in schools by 2019. With that in mind, we wanted to make sure you know how Mathletics can help with teaching your students times tables using activities, assessment, competition and fun resources.

Mathletics offers:

Curriculum activities

In addition to the multiplication activities in the Mathletics courses, there is a set of activities called ‘Groups of…’ and another activity ‘Multiplication Facts’, which allow students to practise all their times tables up to 12 × 12. These activities can be added to your course and the results section will show which times tables your students are struggling with.

Assessment

The new ‘KS2 Times Table Assessment’ includes 30 questions and times tables up to 12 × 12. Teachers can change the time limit of the test as appropriate.

Live Mathletics

Times tables are in Live Mathletics from level 3, so children can practise and learn in a fun way:

Level 3 – 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s and 10s Times Tables

Level 4 – Times Tables to 10 x 10 and 10 x 10 with a missing factor

Multiplication tables wallcharts

Decorate your classroom with times tables wallcharts. Available in four designs, each feature the 2x to 12x tables.

Times Tables Toons resource

Join Max and the band as they sing, dance and rock their way through the times tables. A fun way to learn multiplication facts!
