Accessibility Statement for Mathletics

This is an accessibility statement from 3P Learning Inc.

Measures to support accessibility

3P Learning Inc. takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of Mathletics:

  • Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.
  • Appoint an accessibility officer and/or ombudsperson.
  • Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Mathletics is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Additional accessibility considerations

Our items and tasks are presented in an engaging way to support students with their learning. Meeting them at their own level with the help of placements tests and then progressing at their own pace. As well as certificates and rewards to help students stay engaged and focussed on their learning.

They are given instructions in the form of videos, images and text with extra audio formats as well to read out the instructions. Helping the student out if their literacy or vision levels are low. There is also feedback for incorrect questions which helps the student to learn the material and try again.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Mathletics , there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for Mathletics:

  1. Videos: Videos do not have captions because the visual information closely matches the audio. we are currently investigating adding captions and/or transcripts to our videos. .
  2. Student Lessons: Some interactive activities can not be completed with a keyboard or screen reader because the technology used to display the activities is not accessible by default. Investigating a way to update the activities to work with keyboard and screen readers. If possible complete the activity with a touch device or mouse. Troublesome activities can be skipped by a parent or teacher..
  3. Custom number pad: The number pad cannot be used by keyboard or screen reader and sometimes obscures important information because it was a custom solution developed for the technology limitations at the time. Investigating a way to replace it or rely on native device keyboards to complete tasks. The number pad can be moved out of the way to see the information..
  4. Inconsistent landscape and portrait modes for mobile devices: Some pages ask you to have the device in landscape mode but other parts so not need this because these parts are not optimised for mobile view. Investigating ways to make the display more responsive for mobile views in landscape and portrait.. Try pages in landscape and portait to see which is better for now or move to a larger device..
