Teacher Goals

Goal 1: Grouping!

Thank you all for sending in your class spreadsheets – we’ve used them to set up your students’ year levels. But Mathletics allows you to group students based on ability in order to ensure they are working at their own level and in their zone of proximal development. You know your students best, and if you’d like to create tailored groups, check out this guide.

Goal 2: Assign an activity

Probably, the most important thing, and the thing you’ve all been wondering how to do – assigning activities!

From the ‘Assign & Review’ area in your Teacher Console, you can assign Courses (curriculum-aligned content); Understanding, Practice & Fluency learning journeys; Problem Solving & Reasoning; and Tests. Check out your guide to assigning activities in Mathletics for more information.

Don’t forget you can also assign activities for students to complete as homework.

Here’s how you do it:

  • 1. Click Assign & Review.
  • 2. Select a tile.
  • 3. Select your class or group.
  • 4. Choose a topic or activity.
  • 5. Select individual students or all.
  • 6. Click Assign.

Goal 3: Check out the Help Hub – Videos and Guides

We know that exploring a new program can seem overwhelming at first – especially as you’re probably very busy juggling other things as well.
If you head on over to our help hub you’ll find tons of short videos and step-by-step guides for anything you might want to do.

Student Goals

Goal 1: Explore Meritopia

Meritopia is an expansive rewards system, pedagogically crafted and designed to support learning outcomes and student engagement by rewarding continuous effort and mastery. Meritopia leverages student curiosity through exploratory game play as they discover a world filled with funny surprises.

In order to access Meritopia, students must reach a points threshold by completing tasks. They have access to the world of Meritopia for 5 minutes, before they will need to earn more points to unlock the world again. Check out this video to see Meritopia in action!

Goal 2: Early learners

Numeracy for Early Learners is Mathletics’ collection of blended learning tools just for ages 4-8. It’s designed to bring early learners into the world of numeracy and develop foundational skills with highly engaging interactive stories that combine numeracy and literacy, downloadable hands-on card games, and captivating videos that kids love.

Simply, click on the ‘Numeracy for Early Learners‘ tile on your Teacher Console and start exploring the video, games box or storybooks sections.

Tip: All the following maths games can be accessed by heading to the Student View tab and then the Play section

Play Paws
Play Paws builds essential skills in place value, number sense, addition and subtraction with a series of guided and practice modules – accompanied with some cute friends.

Goal 3: Primary school

Rainforest Maths (K-6)
Rainforest Maths builds fluency as students practice, consolidate and reinforce their maths skills for different topics covering all primary years, in a fun and engaging rainforest environment. Rainforest Maths also opens the doors for countless cross-curricula and contextual learning opportunities. Students learn about weather, geography, flora and fauna and more as they progress through the rainforest.

Multiverse
Set in a rich, animated story world, Multiverse is a multiplication fact fluency game where students take charge as space traders exploring new worlds. Learners use their multiplication facts in a story context to scan asteroids, harvest minerals, plot coordinates and defeat space pirates.

Live Mathletics
Fire up your students’ competitive spirits with Live Mathletics! Students challenge the computer or peers from their classroom, school or even around the world in a 60 second battle to see who can answer the most questions correctly – and win bragging rights!

Goal 4: Secondary school

Live Mathletics is perfect for secondary students as well, as higher levels go all the way to covering logarithms and quadratics. In addition, students can access videos for selected activities that are designed to build a real-world connection to the topic and a deeper understanding of the concept.

Teacher Goals

Goal 1: Explore Understanding, Practice and Fluency

There are over 10,000 Understanding, Practice and Fluency (UPF) activities in Mathletics that are completely aligned to curriculum standards up to year 10 for AUS and year 6 for NZ (but don’t worry, years 7-8 are coming very soon for NZ in March with 9-10 to follow shortly).

Our UPF activities use a ‘rolling mastery’ approach, meaning that it uses real-time, on-going, formative assessments to always keep students in their Zone of Proximal Development. Students only advance onto more challenging content after they’ve demonstrated mastery of earlier curriculum areas.

UPF uses a variety of question types, from multiple choice to interactive graphs and visual problems, so your students gain a deeper understanding of each concept and topic.

Assign a UPF Learning Quest by heading on over to Assign and Review.

Goal 2: Explore Problem-Solving and Reasoning

Mathletics has over 700+ problem-solving and reasoning activities designed to help students master soft maths skills and develop critical and creative thinking abilities.

They are endlessly engaging, show students how maths can be applied to real-life problem-solving, AND are incredibly simple to assign.

Head on over to the Resource Hub, click Problem Solving and Reasoning, filter to assign different grades and depth of knowledge and select the PSR activity you want.

Teacher Goals

Goal 1: Find the Resource Library

Your Mathletics Library Hub is your home of digital and printable mathematics workbooks. Check out your guide to your Resource Library here! Prefer to see how to access the Library in action? Watch this video.

Goal 2: Access student reports

Mathletics has been tracking how your students are going and all you need to do is take a peek at Mathletics Reports.

To help you get the most out of the reports, watch the video walkthrough here or download your guide here.

Goal 3: Print certificates

Of course, once you’ve checked progress, you’ll want to reward your students for effort or mastery. Your students will automatically earn weekly certificates based on points they have accumulated, but there’s also an editable certificate that you can print and use whenever you want! You’ll find the certificates in the Report section as well but you can also head over here for a ton more free classroom printables.
